What we’re about

In the late 1800’s the Palisades, now a National Natural Monument (June 1983) were under threat of extinction. They were saved by New Jersey’s Governor Foster M. Voorhees, New York’s Governor Theodore Roosevelt and the NJ State Federation of Women’s Clubs. These visionaries had the foresight to preserve this truly remarkable gem of nature that was formed 200 million years ago. \

While the LG issue has been resolved this video provides a history of the Palisades \

Another group that supports conservation of the Palisades is the Palisades Nature Association. The PNA oversees Greenbrook Nature Sanctuary. Please visit
