##

About the event:
Are you looking to transition into UX w/o quitting your current job and spending a fortune? Do you want to avoid wasting months (or even years) receiving countless demotivating rejections?

Even though the demand for user experience professionals is quite high, it can be tough to break in, and you can face many pitfalls along the way. There is a large variety of tactics to build skills and experience, position yourself as an attractive candidate, and get noticed by employers. Their effectiveness can vary tremendously and have a major impact on how successful (or not) you are with the UX career transition.

This interactive and virtual fireside chat will feature a UX manager from Google, who is also a teacher at UC Berkeley and an experienced mentor who helped over 110 people transition into the field. We will discuss his journey, key roadblocks, how to overcome those, and how you can turn yourself into a highly marketable UX job candidate that employers really want to hire.

Speakers:
- Earl Friedberg, UX Manager at Google, Teacher at UC Berkeley, UX Mentor and Career Coach
- Michael Lapin - Founder and Program Director at Beginex UX Career Accelerator
