About us
Providence lacks an established SUP group, but our rivers buzz with paddlers. I've started this group to unite us for relaxed meetups, sharing route ideas, and growing the local stand-up paddling scene.
All skill levels welcome - seasoned or newbie. Join to explore Providence waters (and beyond), swap techniques, gear tips, launch spots, and connect with a fun, inclusive community of water lovers. Grab your board - let’s paddle!

Providence Paddlers Kickoff @ Lincoln Woods
Lincoln Woods State Park, Les Pawson Loop, Lincoln, RI, USWelcome to the first Providence Paddlers SUP Boarding Meetup.
We’re starting at Olney Pond in Lincoln Woods because it’s a calm, beginner-friendly spot with an easy launch. This will be a great first paddle before we eventually move on to the Providence and Seekonk Rivers. We will traverse the ~3 mile perimeter of the pond at a casual pace.
We’ll meet at the boat ramp at Olney Pond in Lincoln Woods State Park at 1 PM on Saturday, May 16th.
The forecast is currently looking good- around 60°F and partly cloudy with low winds. I advise bringing an easily removable layer.
Olney Pond Boat Ramp at Lincoln Woods State ParkPlease bring:
• Your own paddleboard
• Your own paddle
• A USCG-approved PFD, required while underwayI currently have 2 spare boards available. If you need one, message me after you RSVP and I’ll randomly select 2 people to use them.
On that note- if you have an extra board, paddle, or PFD that another member could use, please message me.Please plan to arrive by 1 PM so we can get organized and launch on time. This will be a relaxed, beginner-friendly group paddle, and we’ll keep things social and easygoing.
Looking forward to getting this group together and building a great local SUP community.
