Web Security is the main subject, in the context of developing and deploying a Laravel site on a VPS. We'll talk a fair amount of Linux here.

This will be the founding meeting, the Organizer Jim will talk about his experience using Laravel to implement a website and considerations for deployment on a VPS that include server hardening on Ubuntu 24.04.

Enjoy a wide-ranging presentation and bring your questions, beginners and experience web developers are welcome.

It's virtual, you can join from anywhere, no need to be in the Provo, Utah area.

Just getting this scheduled, this is our second meetup, it's online-only. We might get together (for locals) at a pizza place or something afterward, who knows.

The Meetup organizer Jim will present about some different website architectures including wasWordpress, Laravel and React/Flask. I'll post more details as I think of them, or if we get a different speaker.

We'll see how the first Nov 7 meetup goes and adjust our plans based on feedback / lessons learned. Thanks for joining the group, it's helps get a new group off the ground.
