Tonight's speaker, James D. Dickie, MD, is a founding member of P&P from back in 2009. Since then, he’s been giving a lot of thought to what the churches are teaching about hell.

Isn’t the idea of eternal conscious torment taught all through the Bible? Isn’t that where Christians get their ideas about it? James wants to tell us about hell’s mythological character — and help us understand its origins.

As a Christian, James says that love wins in the end. He believes there is an ultimate universal reconciliation of the human race to a Creator who values each of us.

So let’s look together into the great Unseen; let’s learn the meanings of the terms hades and sheol, Gehenna, Tartarus, the lake of fire, and the second death.

Maybe somebody you know needs to know more about this. Bring ‘em along Friday night. Bring your own thoughts and questions. Should be quite a discussion!
