Welcome to Provocation Theatre: a cozy, community driven improv theater and creative hub in the heart of Berkeley, just steps from campus. We’re a lesbian/female owned space dedicated to laughter, community + heart.
We offer improv shows, classes, workshops, jams, and special events for all experience levels. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or trying improv for the very first time, we welcome you. We strive to be more than a theater, rather a gathering place for artists, students, neighbors and anyone looking for authentic community.
Our mission is simple: make improv and creative expression accessible, welcoming, and joyful. We never turn anyone away for lack of funds, because we believe the arts and community should be available to everyone.
Expect a supportive atmosphere, fresh faces, spontaneous fun, and lots of “yes, and!” energy. Come meet people, take creative risks, laugh hard, and help us build a vibrant community-centered arts space in Berkeley.
