He stays grounded by engaging a community of friends & colleagues every day – actively promoting the notion that Talent Acquisition (TA) is the ‘point of the spear’ of HR. Gerry founded CareerXroads (www.CXR.works) in 1996 to encourage the transformation of hiring into the 21st century. Today, with his business partner, Chris Hoyt, CXR is in its third decade as a member-driven community of Talent leadership teams at 100+ major employers who learn from and help one another improve and succeed...and they collectively hire nearly three million people a year. His career spans 55+ years and includes Recruiting, Consulting, Executive Search, Recruitment Marketing, HR leadership positions with J&J, and Career Services at Stevens Institute of Technology where he graduated with his BE in Engineering as well as IO/Psychology degrees. He has served on numerous Boards including the Society for Human Resource Management, founded several non-profits, written 8 books and penned hundreds of articles.
