What we'll do:
This event will feature the following presentations:
Talk #1: The deceptively challenging problem of model versioning
Speaker: Nick Buker
Description: In this talk we will discuss the complexities of model versioning that are not immediately obvious and some strategies for handling them.
Lightning talk #1: Plaintext math
Speaker: Matt Drury
Description: Pseudo-python is nice for communicating mathematics in a plain text medium. Let's look at a few examples.
Talk #2: The Best Language to Write Python in is Rust
Speaker: Trent Hauck
Description: This is a talk I gave at PyCascades2024. It provides context for why you might use Rust with Python, how you might get started, along with a specific section on Data Engineering via Rust, Python, and Arrow.
What to bring:
Since this is a talk format meetup, you don't need a computer. Tacos will be provided by Arista Catering.
Building access:
1. The building lobby is open 6am to 6pm. If you arrive after 6pm please call or text 206-777-1177 to be let in.
2. Once you are in, please head to the 7th floor.
Parking:
Parking is available in the garage underneath the building, which can be accessed from Madison Street.
Parking downtown runs $17 to $35. SURF can validate parking for $10 at the front desk.
