Talk #1: Beyond the Prompt: The Frontier of AI Coding
Speaker: Tyrell Towle
Description: AI is transforming software development, but generating code is only the beginning. Modern coding agents can navigate repositories, write and execute programs, test their work, and tackle increasingly complex projects. Yet significant challenges remain in reliability, context management, autonomous execution, and verifying the correctness of AI-generated software.
This presentation explores the current state of AI-assisted programming, recent research into coding agents and their supporting harnesses, and emerging approaches to overcoming their limitations. We'll examine challenges in long-running development tasks, agent orchestration, and the evaluation of coding performance.
We'll also discuss practical tools and techniques for improving AI-assisted development, including structured coding workflows, independent verification, and running local language models with **llama.cpp**. Examples will illustrate how these technologies can be applied to real-world software development and research projects.

Talk #2: TBD
Speaker: Rohit Musti
Description: TBD
