We are thrilled to announce an upcoming Music Training session at Polaris Insight Center on May 9th , featuring an engaging dialogue with three esteemed musicians: Byron Metcalf, David Starfire, and Claudia Cuentas. They will share insights into their personal processes of creating music for Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) sessions.
Byron Metcalf is an award-winning percussionist and recording artist with over four decades of experience. Beginning his professional drumming career at age 15, Byron has performed on gold and platinum albums. In the late 1980s, he developed HoloShamanic Integration™, a framework supporting individuals in deepening their self-understanding and integrating profound experiences into practical life. Byron's music is renowned for facilitating transformative journeys and altered states of consciousness.
David Starfire is a pioneering producer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and DJ, recognized by BBC Radio as "one of the most brilliant world-fusion producers of our time." He is acclaimed for blending world music with electronic beats, establishing the Global Bass genre. David has collaborated with artists like Afrika Bambaataa and Alex Grey and has performed at prominent festivals such as Coachella and Burning Man. His work extends to composing music for meditation and psychedelic therapy, contributing to platforms like TRIPP VR.
Claudia Cuentas is a Peruvian artist, licensed marriage and family therapist, researcher, and educator. Passionate about the intersection of art, healing, and cultural identity, she integrates indigenous knowledge from her Aymara and Quechua heritage into her therapeutic practices. Claudia holds a Master's in Counseling Psychology and has trained in various modalities, including Drama Therapy and Somatic Experiencing. She is a recording musician and singer-songwriter, dedicated to using art as a tool for healing and liberation.
Please join us on Friday, May 9th, 9am - 3pm pst for this enriching exploration of music and psychedelics. You can register at: https://training.polarisinsight.com/advanced-music. There are no prerequisites for this session and it is open to clinicians and non-clinicians alike.
