Trauma and Resilience Training with Dr. Sandy Newes

Sending each of you love as you continue to recover, heal and rebuild after the storm. This is a powerful time, where it’s so important to ensure we are diving deep into our own personal grieving & healing while also doing our very best to support our friends, family and community.

We have been grappling with the immense task of making sense of the chaos that has upended and transformed our lives. It is clear that this is a moment for us to unite—to reflect, to offer mutual support, and to explore the ways we can rebuild both our internal and external worlds while helping others to do the same.

The Psychedelic Society of Asheville is honored to invite you to a workshop designed to help us navigate this pivotal moment in our recovery process. Please come join us for an experientially oriented training where we will connect with each other while learning trauma and resilience frameworks and skills that we can apply in our lives, with our clients, and in our communities as we navigate the effects of this unprecedented disaster.

In this workshop, Sandy Newes will teach from the perspective of the “Resilient Zone” and we will explore differences in how the shifting state of our nervous systems post trauma impacts our perceptions, reactions, cognitive and relational capacities. We will also learn some skills for resource and self-regulation that we can apply to ourselves and in our work with clients.

Dr. Sandy Newes is a Licensed Psychologist specializing in ketamine assisted psychotherapy with a focus on resilience, trauma, anxiety, chronic stress, self-regulation, and substance misuse and recovery. She offers comprehensive psychological evaluation and is a nationally recognized speaker, trainer, and workshop presenter.
