Explore Autism, Neurodiversity & Psychedelic Experiences
·OnlineOnlineGather monthly to explore where our Autism, Neurodiversity and Psychedelic experiences meet, as well as how each plays out separately in our lives.
In many circles talking about autism, neurodiversity or psychedelics can be awkward or even taboo. This is our space to explore and share, unmasked. Come as you are, with your fidget toy, your quirks and special interests, and all that is uniquely you. This is an inclusive group where all are welcome, including allies.
We'll start each meeting sharing guidelines to help us co-create our meetups with comfort and flexibility, knowing that our guidelines will evolve over time. Then we'll have brief check-ins to help us get to know each other. Following will be time to chat about the topics anyone would like to discuss. Our shared purpose is to allow us to come together, be our authentic selves, and connect with others who can relate to many of our own experiences.
Suggestion - Bring some paper or a journal, and a pen, to jot down thoughts during the meeting while another person is speaking, so you remember all the brilliant thoughts you had on the topic when you get a chance to speak at the MeetUp! From experience the thoughts will spark. ;)
Our meetings are monthly online, and we are adding in person events 1-2 times a year, in addition to the monthly online MeetUps. In person events announced at the online meetings as they are planned.
(Please avoid fragranced products at our occasional in person meetings to support those with sensitivity to smells. We'll do our best to find in person meeting locations with decent lighting, and low levels of auditory distractions. Suggestions welcome on locations too!)
About the host:
Be Friend is an ordained minister in a non-denominational "church without walls" for over 16 years, a late diagnosed autistic woman, and an advocate who is steeped in the newly legal psilocybin ecosystem in Oregon. Currently she is in the middle of starting up a psilocybin service center, and an adjacent retreat center. She's been involved since Nov. 2022 with grassroots advocacy, encouraging our state's legislators and the Oregon Health Authority to improve the rules for the Oregon Psilocybin Services Act (OPSA).
Be has also been part of the Autistic Psychedelic Community (APC) for quite a while now and has witnessed and experienced how coming together to chat about being on the spectrum and psychedelics, can be a powerful community building space. So when Aaron Orsini (the co-founder of the APC, and author of Autism on Acid) asked Be to connect with PPS to get a group going in Portland, she jumped at the chance.

Breath Work Guidance
PNW Integrative Center, 840 SE Washington St, Portland, OR, USJoin PPS for a monthly in-person breath work class @ PNW Integrative Center (Previously Seamsters).
Breath work is a self led psychedelic experience and powerful modality for healing, a great practice for grounding, and a fun activity to explore. My sessions contain a spectrum of disciplines, including elements of Wim Hof and Circular breathing. In breath work, we have a tool to renew and invigorate energies within ourselves and develop a calm and clear state of mind. Breath work can be used for both ‘in the moment’ activation, as well as an attribute to an ongoing healing process.
About your host -
Geoff Falkenberg is an intuitive breath work practitioner versed in several Eastern and Western breath work modalities. He has been experiencing, studying, and leading breath work as a means of somatic healing for over 5 years.Geoff values sharing the breath work experience and the healing that can be found in the practice. Our bodies have an inherent ability to heal, and through the simple act of structured breathing we can engage with, calm, and ground our nervous system, which can have a cascading effect in leading ourselves through both mental and physical healing.
What to Expect -
- Please do not eat a heavy meal within an hour before the session.
- Easy fitting clothing is best.
- Yoga matts and blankets are available, feel free to bring your own as well

Meditating for the Psychedelic Journey
InnerTrek Service Center, 11 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Suite 601, Portland, OR, USInnerTrek Service Center
11 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Suite 601
Portland, OR 97232
(South-most building at the east end of the Burnside Bridge)You're invited to an evening of community meditation and discussion for the preparation and integration of psychedelic journeys.
We start with simple, heart-warming silent meditation practice, (~30mins) followed by group discussion.
Topics are centered around the role psychedelics can play in settling deeper into the experience of inner peace, challenges and rewards encountered before, during and after journeying, and digging more into the experience of peace every day.
This is a space for curious minds and open hearts — whether you're deep in the work or just beginning to explore.
All are invited to make themselves comfortable sitting on the provided pillows, back jacks or chairs. Participants are also welcome to bring their own cushions, pillows, or props.
As with all events, please plan to arrive early or on-time so we can begin promptly.
NOTE: This event is also posted elsewhere on Meetup, where others besides here have RSVP'd to it.
