About us
Portland Psychedelic Society (PPS) is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating inclusive spaces for psychedelic education, integration, advocacy, and meaningful community connection.
Through our recurring PPS Community Nights at The Haven, special events, and broader community ecosystem, we aim to cultivate thoughtful, grounded, and accessible opportunities for learning, reflection, relationship-building, and personal growth. We believe community itself is an essential part of healing, belonging, and cultural transformation.
***
Our Recurring Anchor Programs
PPS Community Nights at The Haven are our recurring monthly programs designed to create a consistent rhythm of community gathering and engagement. They include:
- Education Program
- Community Salon
- Paths to Integration

We welcome those with no psychedelic experience, those with decades of experience, and everyone in between.
***
Important Registration Information
PPS primarily uses Meetup for community visibility, outreach, and event discovery.
Official PPS Community Nights and other PPS-produced events require registration through our Neon event platform. RSVPāing on Meetup alone does not reserve a space for ticketed PPS events.
When applicable, please use the registration link provided within each event description to complete your registration and reserve your spot.
Most PPS events operate on a sliding-scale or donation-based model in an effort to keep programming accessible while sustaining the ongoing work of the organization.
***
Affiliate & Community Events
In addition to official PPS programming, this Meetup page may also feature affiliated community events hosted by aligned facilitators, organizers, and partner organizations throughout the region.
These affiliate events are independently organized and operated. Registration processes, pricing, facilitation styles, and event policies may vary by organizer. PPS helps spotlight these offerings as part of a broader ecosystem of psychedelic community care and connection, but PPS is not responsible for the direct oversight, facilitation, or management of affiliate events.
***
Community Ethos
We encourage all members and event participants to review our Community Ethos before attending events:
***
Community Guidelines
PPS does not allow the solicitation or exchange of illegal substances within this community. Posts violating this policy will be removed and offending members may be banned from the group.

Psychedelic Paths to Wholeness

Click the "READ MORE" link at the bottom of the description to expand it.
Psychedelic Paths to Wholeness is a monthly gathering focused on exploring the intentional use of psychedelics for personal and communal healing, growth, and expansion.
This group provides a supportive space for individuals to share their experiences, ask questions, and explore the transformative potential of psychedelics. Our discussions will also focus on how psychedelics can foster connection, heal inherited and ancestral traumas, and inspire peaceful activism to create positive change in our world.
Whether you are new to psychedelics or have been a long-time explorer, all are welcome.
š£ PLEASE READ: we have several important announcements, disclaimers, and attendee agreements that we go over at the beginning of every meeting. It is important that everyone attending this meeting be present for this so that they can agree to the group rules. This will usually take place by 6:10pm. No one admitted after this time. This is to protect everyone's privacy and respect people's time. Once we set the container, latecomers are a disruption. You can leave at any time, but please don't arrive any later than 6:10pm. Thank you for your understanding. šā„ļø

Bringing Your Inner World to Life: A Six-Week Group Experience
Himmapan Community Cafe, 15 NE 18th ave,, Portland, OR, US***Community Event: ***
Bringing Your Inner World to Life: A Six-Week Group ExperienceMORE INFO: https://www.meetup.com/portland-breathwork/events/316284622
Most of us carry a few familiar voices inside. One that keeps things running. One that second-guesses. One that goes quiet when it's hurt, and one that gets loud. You probably know them well, even if you've never given them names. What's less familiar is what they're actually protecting, and what happens when they're listened to instead of managed. This series is an invitation to find out, together.
Much of our inner work tends to happen alone: a journal, a podcast, a pile of half-read books. We get better at describing our patterns without necessarily feeling change or improved agency. This is a chance to try something else: gently bringing that inner world forward, and seeing what shifts when it's not just you and the page. The series is especially well suited to anyone who tends to live in their head (thinking, analyzing, working things out mentally) and who's curious what it might feel like to build a bit more attunement with what's happening underneath the thinking.
How it works
Each week comes with a short reading, drawn from Internal Family Systems, that gradually builds out a map of the inner world and a deeper understanding of IFS and its process. Then we meet for two hours: an authentic relating game to help us arrive and be present with each other, a conversation about the reading and where it showed up in your week, and a practice that brings the idea off the page and into felt experience.
Over the six weeks, there's room to meet some of your more difficult parts on purpose, understand what your coping habits have been trying to do for you, and see a stuck conflict met with some compassion rather than more pressure.
The premise we're working with is simple: every part of you is trying to help, even the ones that cause the most trouble, and something tends to soften when they're finally understood for their intentions. We'll explore that in your lived experience.
Nothing more is asked of you than showing up and a little willingness. What you choose to share is entirely up to you.
The six weeks
- Week 1: The map. Why "part of me wants to, part of me doesn't" is more literal than it sounds. We'll meet the three kinds of parts everyone carries and begin sketching a first map of your own.
- Week 2: What's underneath. There's a calm, steady presence in each of us that doesn't need to be built, only found. We'll explore what it feels like when it's present, where it tends to go, and how to notice the difference.
- Week 3: Stepping back. When a part takes over, it can feel like it is you. We'll practice a small shift in language and attention that opens a little room between you and whatever's running the show.
- Week 4: The ones that keep things under control. The planner, the critic, the one that can't quite let anything be imperfect. There's a chance to sit with one of yours and ask what it's been trying to prevent all along.
- Week 5: The ones that react. The phone, the fridge, the shutdown, the overwork. We'll look, without shame, at what these habits help us not feel, alongside others who recognize the pattern in themselves too.
- Week 6: When parts pull against each other. The stuck decision, the mixed feeling, the freeze. We'll give voice to both sides of a real conflict, then step back together and listen for what each one is actually asking for.

About your host Austin Gillespie - I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, as a transracial adoptee from South Africa with Desi roots, and I bring lived experience of trauma and a complicated history with substances. When traditional mental health care fell short, psilocybin became a turning point for me. It deepened my curiosity about the brain and the social systems that shape our lives.
This curiosity led me to study psychology with a minor in sociology, and I plan to continue into clinical psychology. I currently work as a recovery mentor and research assistant, focusing on substance use disorder and psychedelic-assisted interventions.
My passions are focused on building inclusive, community-centered spaces that support connection and care. Iām grateful to be part of this community and excited about what weāre building together.
About your host Emma Koko - Emma Koko (she/they), is an Aotearoa - New Zealand born with MÄori (NgÄti Kahungunu) and Samoan (Leone, American Samoa) heritage. As a queer, fat woman navigating PMDD and menopause, she's experienced the transformative power of Earth medicines. By embracing the wisdom of the natural world, Emma has found solace and strength, highlighting the potential of Earth medicines for addressing complex health issues and their connection to systemic oppression. This summer, through the group Fat Girls Hiking, Emma lead and facilitated a beginners surf series for the plus-size community, empowering them to experience the joy and healing power of surfing. She fosters a supportive and inclusive environment for all, empowering individuals to embrace the healing power of the ocean. Emma's journey exemplifies the transformative potential of Earth medicines and the ocean's healing power, especially for marginalized communities.

Rainbow Integration Circle
Ā·OnlineOnlineāWholeness is not achieved by cutting off a portion of one's being, but by integration of the contraries.ā ~Carl Jung
Rainbow Integration Circle is a space for gender and sexually expansive people (2SLGBTQAI+) to come together, heal, share, learn, grow, process and integrate our experiences with psychedelics and entheogens, in community.
This circle has been meeting in one form or another since 2017, and volunteer-hosted by Avery Deane Swift (they/them), a community member steeped in experience both in the realms of psychedelics as well as holding healing spaces. Please reach out directly to Avery Deane with any questions or accessibility needs.
All who join the circle will be asked to hold a container of confidentiality as we collectively create a space for our community to come together, process, learn, and heal. Attendees are also asked to join from the start and be fully present for the meeting, on camera as much as possible, to support connection and community.
We will begin with the intention of supporting each one to integrate past and current experiences, and all are encouraged to join regardless of where you are on your path and exploration of entheogens/psychedelics. Depending on the time remaining the conversation will be open up to questions and collective discussion on topics of interest provided by the group. We sometimes stick around for an extra 15-30 mins at the end for social conversations.
This is not a space to solicit or distribute substances. Please respect the delicate nature of these spaces and help us protect our ability to gather and honor the grounds on which we are allowed to do so.
Please arrive by 6:35pm, late arrivals are not guaranteed entry. We will start with our process of creating a container to support a safer space, and it's best if everyone attending is there to do this with the collective. Message the organizer if you are going to be late.
We are currently meeting online using the Zoom platform. Please register in advance for this meeting:
