Bicycle Day Bike Ride

On April 19th, 1943, Albert Hofmann took a bicycle ride that changed history. To celebrate and commemorate his discovery of LSD, join Portland Psychedelic Society for a festive and inclusive group ride in honor of Bicycle Day.

Meet us at Portland Portal, 5336 SE Bush Street, start gathering around 4:30 pm (ride will begin close to 5pm) for a fun gathering to gear up for the ride and celebrate with like-minded others. Dress festively and decorate your bike!

Ride leaders will guide us on a carefully planned route: approximately a 90 minute gentle social ride (an 8 miles loop, including midway stop), ending at Fathom PDX, 520 SW 4th Ave, Portland, OR 97204, with the option for participants to either conclude their ride or enter Fathom’s immersive art experience at no cost ($22 value). This will be an informal after party - please maintain a respectful and responsible atmosphere. Donations are graciously encouraged!

Exact route details will be shared with riders at Portland Portal.

This is a no-drop, easy pace ride - nobody will be left behind. Ride at your own risk and watch where you’re going. Be careful. Be sober.

NO sale, distribution or solicitation of substances will be tolerated.

• Remember you're riding in a group so give space to those around you
• Be responsible for your own safety and the safety of others
• Please follow the instructions of volunteers
• Speak to volunteers if you have any concerns or problems

• Bright lights and color!
• Snack - e.g. energy bar or piece of fruit
• Helmet
• Lights to get home
• Waterproof layer
• Inner tube or puncture repair kit
• Bike lock to safely secure your bike at the end of the ride
