Beyond the Busy Mind — A Gathering for Stillness and Deeper Questions
Details
# Sitting with Self
Who are you, really—beneath the thinking mind and the story of your life?
Much of the day, we are absorbed in the mind: worrying, planning, analysing and trying to solve the next problem. Beneath all that activity, however, there is something quieter—a simple awareness that is already here.
Satsang is an invitation to pause and notice this for yourself.
Rather than accepting a new belief or searching for another answer, we look directly at our experience:
Who is aware of these thoughts?
What remains when the story becomes quiet?
Is the person I believe myself to be the whole of who I am?
This is self-inquiry in the spirit of the Advaita tradition and teachers such as Ramana Maharshi and Mooji. It is not a lecture or a philosophy you are expected to adopt. It is a gentle, shared exploration of what is true in your own direct experience.
## What this gathering is—and isn’t
Satsang is not a psychic or mediumship reading, fortune-telling or channelling. No one will read your energy, contact Spirit on your behalf or tell you what will happen in your future.
This gathering is about turning your attention inward and exploring the stillness and awareness beneath the busy mind.
## What we’ll do together
- Settle — We’ll begin with a few minutes of guided stillness, allowing the mind and body to arrive.
- Look together — You may bring a question or share something you are wrestling with. We will explore it gently and without rushing to provide another intellectual answer. Instead, the inquiry turns toward your present experience: Who is experiencing this? What is here before the story about it?
- Rest — We’ll allow moments of silence so that whatever has been recognised can settle naturally.
What opens through one person’s question will often resonate with others in the room.
## You don’t have to speak
You are welcome to bring a question, but there is no pressure to participate. Many people come simply to sit, listen and share in the silence. You can take part in whatever way feels right for you.
## This gathering may be for you if you:
- Feel caught in overthinking, fear or uncertainty and sense that something quieter exists beneath it
- Find yourself drawn to the question of who you really are
- Have read or watched non-duality teachings and would like to explore them in live company
- Value honest inquiry, open-hearted conversation and shared silence
- Long to stop searching for a moment and simply be
## Come with whatever is alive for you
Bring the worry you cannot put down, the feeling of being stuck or lost, a question about something happening in your life—or the deeper question:
Who am I, really?
No knowledge or previous experience is needed. Come exactly as you are.
Perhaps the freedom we seek is not somewhere in the future and does not depend upon finally fixing ourselves. Perhaps it begins by noticing the awareness that is already here.
We simply create the space to look together.
This gathering is free. Donations are welcome, but never expected.
