Major European telecom companies, such as Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Altice Labs and others, collaborate in the development of the reTHINK framework (https://rethink-project.eu/), enabling a new approach to context-based communications, that strives to disrupt how communication takes place across social networks, in smart cities or in the Internet of Things.

The reTHINK project invites developers to test this framework by developing applications that explore its benefits. We are seeking feedback on the capabilities of the framework and its ease of use for rapid prototyping of web communication applications.

You may participate individually or form a group of two elements. Participants should enroll individually and, if so whished, form the groups at the event.

Details: The reTHINK Framework is a decentralized communication infrastructure (licensed under Apache 2.0) that enables developers to easily build and integrate communication services that are faster, more effective, more trustful and inherently inter-operable. Write once, deploy anywhere, together with seamless cross-domain Interoperability, gives developers and service providers much more freedom to really focus on users' expectations. Ultimately, the reTHINK framework is an alternative to current dominant walled garden communication networks, that prevent new developers and new service providers from entering in the market, and at the same time, empowers the users with the choice and the management of their private data and identities.

Candidates are welcomed to attend the Pre-event tutorials session on May 24th, to get better acquainted with this framework.

Location: The reTHINK Beta-tester event will take place in a privileged location in Lisbon. The space is named Techtris House in an allusion to the game Tetris and, consequently, to the fitting together of the various pieces in the ecosystem of innovation, in particular the startups and the industry. Equipped with the latest infrastructures and the latest communications services from PT, this two-story building will allow a hundred entrepreneurs to enjoy all the necessary conditions for the development of their solutions. In addition to co-work areas, meeting rooms, dining areas, a laboratory and a multifunction room equipped for events, this new house of entrepreneurship has the permanent presence of PT teams. The Web Summit made this space its new office in Lisbon.

Registration:

Participants must register via meetup. The selected beta testers will be contacted to confirm their selection. Given the limited number of seats, developers will be selected by their response in the questioner.
