If you're a startup looking to raise capital, this Wagon Talk guest is for you. Adiari Vázquez leads the Smart Energy & Materials vertical for Caixa Capital's Venture Capital Team. Sector interests include: IoT/Big Data/AI, Industrial Resource Efficiency, Smart Energy, and New Chemistries & Materials.
For many entrepreneurs, the venture world is needlessly opaque and confusing. Venture capital is both art and science with luck sprinkled on top. Adiari is able to clear up some of the industry haze for you. From term sheets to what a win-win deal might look like, she can not only provide a general overview of venture capital investment transactions, but her credentials go much further...
Adiari is also an advisor to the European Commission on stimulating innovation & deployment of industrial technologies.
She previously worked as an Environmental Engineer and Consultant in the U.S., engaging in water-focused Cleantech projects. While earning her Ph.D., she spearheaded an interdisciplinary collaboration executed at Harvard, MIT, Stanford, and the U.S. Department of Energy, among others, and discovered novel microbial pathways that aggravate mercury pollution. She received the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship, joining the ranks of Nobel Prize winners, U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, and Google co-founder Sergey Brin.
She received a B.Sc. in Engineering Sciences (2005), a Masters in Microbial Geochemistry (2010), and a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences and Engineering (2014) all from Harvard University, where she also lectured as a Teaching Fellow. Now that's one killer CV. In the end, our students will probably just be asking - How? Join us at the end for beers and chats with Batch 122 🍻🤙
