Undefined.js MeetUp #4 @ IPN
Details
Dear followers, Undefined.js is back for its May edition.
On May 10th, we'll have the 4th edition of Undefined.js MeetUp, the meetup for JavaScript enthusiasts.
Last time we hosted our 3rd edition in the middle of Shift APPens but this time we're shifting away to Instituto Pedro Nunes, where we'll be welcomed by Present Technologies.
This new edition will start at 6PM with a maximum of 80 attendees (RSVP if you want to go!) and will have Luís Cardoso and Sérgio Gomes sharing their perspectives on JavaScript technologies. The event is free of charge, but note that it is limited to the maximum of 80 seats.
Read below more about the talks:
Luís Cardoso, "React Best Practices"
Description: React is one of the most used libraries for web development. However because it's so widely used the library evolves fast and sometimes we don't get the most out of it or we are not familiar with new patterns and best practices. This talk gives an overview of the current best practices and caveats to watch out for.
Bio: I've been a Frontend Engineer at Feedzai for 7 years. Some of the things I've been involved with were maintaining a large SPA, recruiting and architecture decisions.

Sérgio Gomes, "Navigating the Redux performance minefield".
Redux and its framework bindings offer an interesting architecture for managing state in a predictable way. However, it's also quite predictable that they'll give you a wide variety of performance headaches as your application grows in size. In this talk, you'll learn about some of the problems to look out for if you're maintaining a Redux app or inadvisedly planning to write one.
Bio: Developing things on the web. Engineer at Automattic.
