Like the Brisbane Atheists' pre-pandemic meetups at the library in George Street, we will: 1. Start with a meet, greet and each of us will introduce ourselves and our interests 2. Then discuss the topic(s) of the evening including the ones that you wish to raise 3. Keep to the general theme of Atheism and rational thought/humanism 4. If time permits, stray to other topics like current affairs and etcetera. These online meetups are being organised in conjunction with the Progressive Atheists who have been organising online meetings for Atheists every week since March 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic. As the name says, 'Queensland Atheists Online' is for Atheists in Queensland in addition to the Brisbane Atheists. It is an opportunity to catch up with the people you have met at past Atheist meetups or online and/or you can also make new friends. If you have not been able to attend meetups before then this is your opportunity to attend. The first part of the get together is for catching up and general conversation. The second part of the get together is for anyone to introduce a topic followed by a discussion about it (a soapbox). We will be using Zoom and the link becomes available when you RSVP. If you are too late to RSVP then put a comment in the meetup discussion and we may be able to get the link to you. Progressive Atheists will organise more online meetings for other Atheists with various purposes. They can organise online meetings exclusively for smaller Atheist meetups. They can also have special meetings to discuss campaigns or have meetings just for group organisers and etcetera. Please contact them with your request. If people have not used Zoom before then it is worthwhile to click on the link ASAP to install the program to access the meeting. You do not have to register with Zoom to attend an online meeting. No personal information is required other than a name that you wish to use in the meeting (and that can be changed at anytime). Join this sorority of radical feminists from around the world as they inform us about the challenges and struggles in their own countries. Welcome to the new virtual format of the Catan meet up. We use Catan Universe to play online. Log on to CatanUniverse.com and be ready to share your username with the group. If you have reached level 3 within Catan Universe, please join the Guild most of us are in called Settlers of Gotham. The most popular platform to play CU is through Steam, although some play via their web browser. At the time of the meetup, first connect to the Zoom link provided to meet everyone. We will share our screen names on Catan Universe and start a game via Catan Universe. We will go to breakout rooms, if we have more than one game going. It is ok to join at any time. The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~$20 per person. Soft drink refills are $1 each.
