Das passt gut, denn in der Graphischen Sammlung der ETH Zürich eröffnet gerade eine spannende neue Ausstellung: «Gletscher & Stromschnellen. Gezeichnete Schweiz um 1800». Gezeigt werden Werke aus dem reichen Bestand an Schweizer Handzeichnungen des 18. und 19. Jahrhunderts, darunter Aquarelle, Gouachen, Studien und wissenschaftlich geprägte Darstellungen der Alpen. Die Ausstellung zeigt, wie das Bild der Schweiz um 1800 geprägt wurde – mit Gletschern, Gebirgslandschaften und dramatischen Naturmotiven, die auch heute noch stark wirken. Bei gutem Wetter können wir stattdessen aber auch draussen zeichnen, beispielsweise auf der Polyterrasse mit einem Blick über die Altstadt. There, plenty of casts of historical statues are waiting for us to sketch them. Chairs are available to borrow there. Admission is free. If the weather turns out to be nice after all, we can always head to the Polyterrasse. We’ll meet inside in the museum foyer. END OF UPDATE As the weather is set to turn properly cold and unpleasant again, we are postponing our next meetup by one week to the Easter weekend. And since the first Sunday of the month falls on Easter Sunday this time, we will meet on Saturday instead. That works out rather well, because the Graphische Sammlung at ETH Zurich is opening an intriguing new exhibition: “Glaciers & Rapids. Drawn Switzerland around 1800.” It presents works from its rich holdings of 18th and 19th century Swiss drawings, including watercolours, gouaches, studies and scientifically informed depictions of the Alps. The exhibition explores how the visual image of Switzerland was shaped around 1800, through glaciers, mountain scenery and dramatic natural subjects that still resonate today. For sketchers, this promises compelling lines, tonal values, compositions and the question of how landscape can be staged through drawing. If the weather is fine, however, we can also draw outdoors instead, for example on the Polyterrasse with a view over the old town. In any case, we’ll meet indoors in front of the entrance to the Graphic Collection exhibition. Join us on an epic journey from the depths of raw, normalized tables to the shining halls of a well-modeled star schema fit for Power BI greatness. We will demystify the differences between OLTP and OLAP, walk through star schema vs snowflake (and why Power BI has a clear favorite), and show you the compression differences between normalized and columnar storage that will make you never look at an OLTP model the same way again. We will cover the different types of dimensions, when to use them, and how to handle Slowly Changing Dimensions without losing your mind. You will leave knowing exactly how to identify a bad model, how to convert OLTP data into a clean star schema, and how to forge relationships that rule them all. **The Data-Driven Brand: Using Analytics to Shape Perception** Can you use analytics to improve tacos? This being CBUSDAW, we think the answer is probably “yes”, but we’re not sure how to implement or test this theory. For our April meetup we’ve got Sara Kear, CMO of Condado Tacos, to investigate this delicious question. Sara will explore how she blends quantitative data and qualitative customer feedback to shape brand positioning and drive business decisions. We all know that marketing and analytics go way beyond attribution. Sara will show how Condado uses customer insights to inform product and pricing strategy. She’ll also highlight how Condado leverages customer feedback at scale to influence operational priorities, positioning marketing as the voice of the customer across the organization. In the last 12 years Condado has gone from one location in Columbus to 52 locations across 10 states, so we’re guessing there’s more to that growth than really good guac (though the guac probably helps). Welcome to Casual Boardgames, where we enjoy classic tabletop games and social deduction games while bonding over good food, drinks, and great conversations. 
We started this group to meet new people and make new friends, and bonding over games in a relaxed atmosphere is a great way to do that. We currently meet near route 23 and Polaris Parkway, and this is close to areas like Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and parts of Westerville and Columbus. 
Feel free to bring your own games or play one of the many games our members bring. If you are inexperienced, we will help you learn. 
Here are just a few examples of the kind of games we play.

IMPORTANT: 
1. While we love playing a variety of games and competing, we are not just about the games. We interact and talk while playing, and this leads to a lot of laughter and fun. If you just want to compete and focus solely on the game, then this is probably not the group you are looking for. 
2. Many people join groups like this and never (or rarely) show up after weeks or months. If you join and never really come, we will eventually remove you from the group as a courtesy to our members. Why? Because limiting group conversations (on the app) to regular members makes communication and planning much easier. Also, while it may be rare, it protects members from people who join because they are interested in following a person instead of having a real interest in our group. If you get removed, it is just because you haven’t come, and we follow this protocol as a courtesy to our regular game players.
