Come and join our **Pokemon TCG** Constructed Tournaments at the Brotherhood Games. The evening consists of 3 rounds of Swiss, with prizing distributed to players with a positive record. To participate in the event, alongside your ticket purchase [here](https://www.thebrotherhoodgames.co.uk/pokemon-events), you will be asked to register when you come into the shop and we will put on our system. Praed Street Picture Hunt
St Mary’s Hospital was founded in 1845 on Praed Street as a voluntary hospital for ’the deserving sick poor’ and opened the Medical School in 1854. Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin there. This is another of our many outside Picture Hunts this year. If any issues with weather, we’ll switch to our 50-50 Trivia in the nearby Wetherspoon Sir Alexander Fleming, so turn up as something will be on regardless. If you’re new to Picture Hunts, check previous events for winners and clue sheets. This time, the event will be centred around different shops on one side of Praed St, Paddington, so there’s no crossing of busy roads. Please aim to turn up for 1:00-1:30 when teams are being arranged. The Hunt starts at 1:30. You're losing search time if you're late! Bring a pen please. As usual, portions of the road are split up into four areas where teams search for the locations of photographed items in the street, buildings or shop windows, and then record where they found them. Picture Hunts are a great new way to get up to speed with slices of London history while sleuthing around the area. Everyone is presented with twenty partial photos of objects around an area. Your team mission is to find them. Some well known, some well unknown! This makes Picture Hunts more interesting and challenging, bringing out the best of your teams detecting skills. You will also have a map of the area. It will be sub-divided into four sections, P, Q, R, S. Each photo will come from one of these. Four players max per team, but the lower number teams get a point per player start from the biggest team. For example, four teams of one, two, three and four. Four player team, no advantage, (the biggest and theoretically the more knowledge between them, except it doesn't always work like that). Three player team, one point start. Two player team, two point start. One player team, three point start. Scores are always close and around the 15-20 points mark. How many players do you want in your team? There's a dilemma! The clipboard holder enters one of the letters to note its area location. Dead simple, right? 90 minutes to do the hunt. We have the usual prizes of chocolate, including some great new varieties. There is also an equal prize for the funniest team name judged by Sue, my glamorous assistant. Names win prizes too! So there’s everything to play for. We mark up at the quiz finish point. The Wetherspoon Sir Alexander Fleming. Hunts are good fun and the proven experience so far is that members get to know each other better after working in teams as you all have to communicate. Great icebreakers. This is what Meetup is all about. Come and join us. There is a £7 cash/card charge for this event. **Join us for another LoMAZ Unlimited event, this time visiting the 'Sufi Life and Art' free exhibition at the British Museum.** **Unlike our regular events (which often have waitlists), our Unlimited ones have no cap on numbers. They're a social for everyone, and a great way to see what we're about.** **❓ How do our Unlimited events work?** * We **meet in the museum cafe** first. * Then we **look** **around 1-3 rooms in the museum for around 50 minutes.** * You're free to wander around the rooms at your own pace or explore with other members of the group. * **This isn't a guided tour of the rooms.** We simply limit the number of rooms we visit so it's more manageable with a larger group than usual. This quote captures that beautifully. “Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” St Francis of Assisi **\- What our group is about** Kings Speakers is a public speaking Toastmasters club which provides a relaxed and supportive environment for people who experience anxiety or fear when speaking in public. It offers the opportunity to practice in a safe space without judgement, helping you to build confidence and gradually overcome your fear of public speaking. Our meetings take place on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month (excluding public holidays) from 19:00 to 20:30. We gather on the first floor of the Windsor Castle pub, conveniently located near Victoria Station (nearest exit Cardinal Place). **\- What we'll do at our events** A typical meeting agenda includes prepared speeches, table topics (impromptu speaking), and evaluations. **1\. Prepared Speeches:** * Members prepare speeches in advance, following the guidelines of Toastmasters educational manuals. * These speeches are typically between 5 and 15 minutes long. * Members choose their own topics, but they often relate to the educational manuals. **2\. Table Topics:** * Table Topics is a segment focused on impromptu speaking. * A designated Table Topics Master presents a topic, and members (and sometimes guests) volunteer to speak about it for a short period, usually 1-2 minutes. **3\. Evaluations:** * Evaluators, who are assigned to each speaker, provide constructive feedback on the prepared speeches. * Evaluations typically include positive reinforcement, identification of strengths, and suggestions for improvement. * This element is considered crucial for helping members refine their speaking skills. **\- Who should join our group** If you experience anxiety or stage fright when speaking in public, if simple conversations, meeting people, and everyday social interactions are a challenge, we can help you push your limits to beyond what you thought possible. Overcoming your fear is easier than you think. You are welcome to come along to just observe without speaking or participating in any activity. You are also free to step into the spotlight during Table Topics to practice your impromptu speaking and boost your confidence! Has your ability to communicate suffered as a result? And after that, even though you "moved on" did you find that things were never quite the same? Have you ever looked at childhood photos, or reminisced your early life and wondered where that happiness and spark went? Are your emotions out of your own control? Have you ever felt, even if you aren’t aware of it, that possibly you are getting in your own way of your happiness and success? How does this affect your self-confidence? We are recruiting new group leaders for virtual men's groups! Our primary groups are outdoor movement groups, but we are launching virtual groups for the state of Ohio and beyond and the groups will move outside in the spring, creating room for men's groups, women's groups and coed groups all over the country. Read below to learn about our groups and click the links at the bottom to apply. ### **What is an Outdoor Empowerment Group?** Our Outdoor Movement & Community Empowerment Groups are simple, guided experiences designed to help people reconnect with nature, themselves, and others. We combine some form of movement (hike, walk, run, bike, yoga, workout) and meaningful conversation within a simple community circle to create a space where individuals can support each other while prioritizing mental and physical well-being. Whether you’re seeking stress relief, personal growth, or community, our groups offer everyone a unique and welcoming environment. ## **Why Join?** * **Improve Mental & Physical Well-Being** – Movement, nature, and supportive conversations reduce stress and promote balance. * **Feel Less Alone** – Build genuine connections with like-minded people in a safe, welcoming space. * **Gain Clarity & Perspective** – Step outside daily routines and into a space designed for personal growth and reflection. ## **The Ideal Group Leader** The ideal group leader * Has a born-in passion for mental health, movement, connecting with nature and building community. * Has 5 extra hours per week to dedicate to a meaningful cause for at least one year.
