What we’re about

Remote sensing covers Lidar, Ground Penetrating Radar, robot vision, driverless cars and all sorts of other stuff. Thus far, many of these fields have been prohibitively expensive or just too technically difficult for amateur makers to get involved in. Now the sector is a lot more interesting as plug and play remote sensing devices have become available. As well as being much cheaper, these new devices are much lighter, making it feasible to carry them in drones, rovers and robot submarines.

We will meet up in London once a month during the evening during the week. The group welcomes professionals working in these fields, students and anybody else looking for interesting projects.

My personal interest is in Lidar mapping. I also run the Lidar Mapping Google discussion group, and you will find that here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/lidar-mapping. All relevant contributions are welcome.
