If you’ve already learned the basics of volleyball and want to keep improving your skills while having fun, this event is for you! **How to find us:** Park in the South Bluemont Parking Area and walk toward the south end of the lot. Near the end, you’ll see a bridge on your left—cross it. Attendance: We’ve noticed that the waitlist is growing, so please make sure your name is on the Going list if you plan to play. Our number of nets is limited so this helps avoid too many rotations. If your name is on the list but you don’t show up, it will count as an absence according to Smiley Social rules. Please update your RSVP at least 12 hours in advance if your plans change. 2. Injuries: Play safely and be mindful of others on the court. Respect positions and avoid risky moves that could lead to injury. If you’re not sure the ball is yours, call it before going for it to avoid collisions. 3. RULES of the GAME : 1- **FRIENDLY GAME**. No slide tackling, rough play, or coaching. 2- It is highly recommended to wear **TURF SHOES**. However, if you choose to wear cleat and you step on someone foot, you have to leave the game for **2 MINS OUT** and the time would increases if you do it again during the same game. 3- In case of disagreement during the game, the **host acts as a referee** so the game stays smooth and enjoyable to everyone. **Please do not show up unless you're confirmed** and your name shows in the going list. You might not play if you show up anyway. **If you can not make it , cancel ahead of time** (prior to 10 pm the night before), otherwise, you will not be prioritized for the future games. No-shows without cancellation would make you lose your spot the next game. If your name is on the wait list, I would assume you are still interested to join, if not remove your name from the wait list. **Every player should sub for a goalie and offer to play defense.** Please use a clear profile picture so it is easier for me to recognize you. if you don't have a clear picture, the host might cancel your rsvp. You see, the ideal number of players for a pickup soccer game is perhaps 6x6 - 8x8; some players won't attend if they think the turnout will be low, and others will just assume the game will be cancelled even though we always play. (As a practical matter, smaller games are less fun since the comics won't have the audience they need, but, they do have two hidden benefits: shorter, more intense games/workouts and fewer face kicks/yellow cards. So we play no matter how small or large.) So non-RSVPers are a little short sighted, since they don't seem to want to maximize their own enjoyment in the long run. Dodgeball is back again! If you’ve been wanting to come out, this is an easy one to join. We’ll be playing for about 1.5 to 2 hours, you do not need to bring any equipment, and no experience is needed. We use a specific set of rules and equipment to make the games run better and keep them fun for everybody, not just people who already know how to play. If it rains, the event will be canceled.
