After the Lord Mayor's Show ft. The Counting House and The Lamb Tavern
Details
7.30 - The Counting House, 50 Cornhill, EC3V 3PD
9.30 - The Lamb Tavern, 10-12 Leadenhall Market, EC3V 1LR
This event takes us to the heart of the Square Mile, starting at The Counting House, 50 Cornhill, EC3V 3PD - https://www.the-counting-house.com - Fuller's award-winning former bank refurbishment.
The nearest underground station is Bank. Head for Exit 5#, taking the left-hand steps signposted for Cornhill, Leadenhall Market and Lloyd's, and you'll find the pub 250/300 yards along Cornhill. Monument station isn't much farther away and there are several other options which might suit some people better.
The plan is to move on to The Lamb Tavern, 10-12 Leadenhall Market, EC3V 1LR - https://www.lambtavernleadenhall.com - at around 9.15/9.30. The Lamb Tavern is a Young's pub set within the Grade II* Leadenhall Market, which dates back to 1881 in it's current form.
As ever, we may do things differently on the night - we might even find a pub that's normally closed on Saturdays but has opened specially for the Lord Mayor's Show. Please take a note of my number - 07761-816862 - so that you can phone me if you can't find us (but no texts or messaging please).
# Exit 5 only really works if you're using the Central line, or leaving the station via the Central line platforms. If you're using the Northern line you'll need to be on the front of the train heading northbound or the back of the train heading southbound for the Central line platforms, otherwise you'll probably end up in Cannon Street or at Monument. All is not lost if this happens - it's just a five-minute walk up Gracechurch Street and turn left into Cornhill, but exit 5 is a lot easier. I'm guessing much the same would apply if you're using the DLR.
