What we’re about

As active members of the global Drupal community, Drupalers Association Pune (DAP), a nonprofit organization also known as the Pune Drupal Group, fosters collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation within the Drupal ecosystem. DAP has organized numerous successful meetups and camps, serving as one of the central hubs for Drupal enthusiasts in India. DAP periodically collaborates with other open-source communities, reinforcing its role in the broader ecosystem.

## Events

### DrupalCamp

DrupalCamp Pune is an annual free conference organized by the Drupalers Association Pune. The camp features new/elite Drupal Speakers who share their experience and knowledge of Drupal and associated emerging technologies.

### Drupal meetups

Drupal meetups are events where like-minded people in Drupal and the ecosystem come together for a short duration, like half a day, to connect, learn new skills, and hear from experts and speakers.

### DAP Timeline

#### 2009

  • February: The Pune Drupal User Group (PDRUG) was founded to strengthen the local Drupal community.
  • The first meetup had 3 Drupalers in attendance.
  • The first DrupalCamp Pune was organized with over 300 attendees. A fun highlight was the Drupal Song, which was featured on Dries's blog, Drupal Song in India.

#### 2010 - 2015

  • Focused on organizing numerous Drupal meetups to foster community engagement and knowledge sharing.

#### 2014

  • DrupalCamp Pune: The second camp was organized with more than 300 attendees.
  • Collaboration with GNUnify: Held a daily Drupal track where about 60 people ran their first site on a local machine.

#### 2015

  • DrupalCamp Pune: saw over 550 attendees.
  • Workshops in collaboration with GNUnify: 80+ students and professionals created their blogging site by listing, searching, and setting up newsletter modules.

#### 2016

  • DrupalCon Asia: Proudly co-organized and volunteered at this significant event.
  • Workshops in collaboration with GNUnify: 65+ students and professionals got their first hands-on Drupal experience in the GNUnify Workshop, which focused on creating their dream web portal.

#### 2017

  • DrupalCamp Pune: Attended by more than 400 people.
  • Workshops in collaboration with GNUnify: A separate track for Drupal in-day workshop where 75 participants got their first-hand experience on Drupal.

#### 2019

  • DrupalCamp Pune 2019 had an attendance of over 350 people.

#### 2020 - 2022

  • The pandemic affected in-person events, leading to a hiatus in major gatherings.
  • Meetups: Despite the pandemic, half a dozen meetups were held annually with an average footfall of 30+. These meetups included sessions and code sprints.

#### 2023

  • DrupalCamp Pune made a strong comeback with 200+ attendees, marking a fantastic restart after the pandemic.

#### 2024

  • MauticCon: Collaborated and volunteered for Mautic Conference India.
  • We re-bootstrapped our meetups, holding a total of 5 with an average attendance of 25.
  • Volunteered for PHPCamp.
  • 2024 Commitment:
    • To make meetups more engaging, DAP officially set a structured agenda for all meetups, including:
      • A Welcome note
      • An hour-long session
      • A lightning talk
      • Birds of a Feather (BoF) discussions
      • Updates and planning for upcoming meetups and conferences
    • DrupalCamp Pune is announced on October 19-20, 2024.
