We’ll kick things off with a casual meet-and-greet session where everyone can introduce themselves, share what they’ve been working on lately, or talk about something interesting they’ve been reading, learning, or exploring.

10:00 AM (Session) – You Saw It in the Driesnote. Now See How Its AI Search Works

At DrupalCon Rotterdam, Dries showed the Drupal AI Demo on stage. This session takes you backstage.

Live and end to end, we'll walk through how the demo is built: a fictional university (Northmoor) running on Drupal CMS, put together from recipes with almost no custom code. Anyone can launch the same demo for free from drupal.org, so bring a laptop and follow along.

Then we'll go behind the curtain of its AI search, ask it real questions and see how AI Answers, the module that powers it, makes sure every answer comes from the site's own content:
- Every new question is forced through a search of the site's index, so the AI can't skip it and make things up
- Matching content becomes numbered sources, and the answer cites them inline as [1], [2]
- Answers stream in live, and sources that aren't cited are dropped
- If the site doesn't know, it says so instead of guessing
- Follow-up questions continue the same conversation, and it answers in the visitor's language

We'll also see where plain RAG search falls short. Questions like "list all…" or "how many…" need the complete set of results, not just the closest few matches. We'll show how giving the AI agent a listing tool fixes this, so it returns every matching item, each one still cited.

To close, a quick look at what's next: vectorless search over long documents with AI PageIndex, and putting these answers on non-Drupal sites with a simple embed.
