Talk:
Authenticating Kafka using MTLS

Abstract:
Mutual TLS (mTLS) enables both client and server authentication using digital certificates. When implemented in Kafka, it ensures identity-verified communication between brokers and clients.

This session will briefly cover how mTLS works in Kafka, key configuration steps, and best practices for securing Kafka in production environments

Speaker:
Prathamesh Thakur, Software Developer, NonStop io Technologies

Talk:
CDC + Kafka: The Zero Downtime Migration Playbook

Abstract:
Migrating a live production system is scary, with downtime, data loss, and a rollback plan you hope you never need. What if you didn't need any of that?

This talk walks through a practical playbook for migrating from System 1 to System 2 while it's still taking live writes, using Debezium to stream every database change into Kafka, keeping both systems in sync until you're confident enough to cut over. We'll cover the full journey, the real gotchas, and exactly when it's safe to flip the switch.

Speaker:
Akshay Anil Utale, Technical Support Engineer, Confluent

Talk:
Kafka Internals and Make your Own Kafka setup (Hands-on)

Abstract:
In this session, we’ll take a practical tour of Kafka internals—focusing on how brokers, producers, and consumers actually work under the hood—before rolling up our sleeves for a hands‑on setup. You’ll learn how to spin up a single-node Kafka environment for quick local testing and then build out a three-node Kafka cluster step by step, so you can confidently reproduce a real-world Kafka setup on your own machine.
