Alchemy is understood as a form of chemistry in the Middle Ages which involved trying to discover how to change ordinary metals into gold. However as we investigate deeper into hermetic traditions Greek and Islamic philosophies and even thoughts of Renaissance philosophers like Paracelsus they direct us towards exploring alchemy as an art of separating the pure and impure.

Alchemy symbolically speaks of the idea of using the ‘philosopher’s stone’ to engage in a process of ‘magical’ transformation from our base material nature to that of gold leading towards wisdom.

This Event is hosted by New Acropolis Pune, a School of Philosophy which is run and managed completely by volunteers, who come together in the common pursuit of Philosophy as a way of Life.

To make the most of this event:
• Please be there by 5:45pm to meet other Aspiring Philosophers. Entries will be closed post 6.15 pm.
• Coffee/Tea and snacks will be available at the centre
• Volunteers from New Acropolis will be available to receive and help you. Please ask them all your questions!
• Walk-in registrations with ticket payment at the door is possible subjective to availability
