About Our Initiative
We are trying to solve a social problem using technology ! yes - AI , ML and DS !
India has long cherished the institution of marriage as a cultural cornerstone. However, recent trends indicate a rising number of divorces—many occurring within a short span after marriage. Through mentoring women in the WiMLDS community, we have identified this as a growing concern that demands deeper exploration.
WiMLDS has launched a dedicated research initiative to understand the evolving dynamics of marriage using data science. Our study group is examining trends, uncovering patterns, testing correlations, and busting common myths. The insights gathered will shape a comprehensive research report and may also inform future discussions around the need for policy or legal reforms.
As part of this initiative, we invite you to a thought-provoking session featuring an expert journalist who has covered family court extensively and conducted in-depth research in this area. The panel will also include experienced lawyers, marriage counsellors, and professionals who work closely with families navigating marriage-related challenges.
Whether you're a parent preparing your child for marriage or someone planning to get married yourself, this session will offer valuable insights you shouldn’t miss.
This event is free and open to all.
