About Spiti
Lahaul-Spiti valley in Himachal is a place of wonder. Spiti in Tibetan means the Middle land as it is located between Tibet and India, and it retains a very strong Buddhist culture.. Spiti is a high altitude cousin of Lahaul,the same characterized by barren lands, denudated rock faces, hostile roads and bone chilling temperature. However it also boasts of ancient monasteries, not the glossied ones like in Ladakh, but those that have retained their stoic nature housing a treasure trove of ancient flags, thankas and prayer wheels. Quaint villages dot the highway, and landscapes that are a photographer’s dream.

About our Journey:
With an average height of 12,500 feet above sea level, Spiti Valley consists of stark high alpine lands scattered with small postcard-perfect villages of whitewashed mud-homes and monasteries. Prepare to travel to a world where villages appear like a mirage after miles of trailing a turquoise green river nestled between snow-capped barren mountains and blue lakes; a world which has the harshest winters you’ll ever see, but therein reside the warmest people you’ll ever meet.
Spiti Lahaul is also mostly a journey into yourself. Long drives, beautiful landscape all around you and a few good companions should make it a journey you will never ever forget and that’s what we are doing. We will be hiring a traveller/Innova from Chandigarh and travelling to Spiti from Shimla and will be returning back via Manali. This route has been chosen as it helps us to get acclimatised due to gradual ascent as compared to if we travel directly from Manali.

The Plan:
Book your flights so as to reach Chandigarh .
A traveller will pick us from Airport and we will be directly headed towards Lahaul and Spiti. We will be travelling next 10 days through the beautiful landscape of Lahaul and Spiti .
