Important: Venue change! See below.
After 3 years of organizing Pixels with the help of some dear friends, it's time to inject some new blood into our group. On Tuesday, I will be stepping down as Head Square and will be opening things up to new organizers. There will be more details on the 8th but, for now, here's what's important:
1. We will be meeting in the back room of the Rose and Crown from 5pm until late.
The first change this year will be the venue! The Hop has been a great home but I think it's time for new talking grounds. Whether we stay at the Rose for awhile, go back to the Hop or try something totally different after the 8th will be up to the new organizers.
2. The Torch will be passed at 7pm.
Right now, all that's been decided is that Dave will be taking over the online Meetup account and will be organizing the February Pixels event. We've been throwing around ideas on how best to open up the group to new organizers for March and beyond (along with the Twitter and Facebook thingies), but there will be a (hopefully drunken) group discussion about it at 7pm.
3. I will be attending Pixels events for the foreseeable future.
Pixels and Pints has made the last 3 years the best of my life and I intend to attend all future Pixels and Pints events as a civilian. This will just be my last as leader of the discussion. I plan to heckle often and will be available to new organizers for advice and hugs.
As for an after party, I'm leaning towards Punk Rock Bingo at Broken Shitty around 10pm.
