Polars is an amazing new dataframe library. This interactive workshop will show why & how to replace Pandas with Polars in your pipelines.

## About this event

Interested in learning about a fast-growing dataframe library that not only runs faster than Pandas but is easier to write?

In this workshop we will introduce you to Polars with exercises that help you quickly get up to speed and deliver high performance data pipelines.
By taking this workshop you will see how Polars brings some joy to your workflow as the smart design of Polars allows you to focus on your analysis while it optimises the details.

## Is this for you?

This workshop is for anyone who has a basic familiarity with Pandas but wants code that is simpler to write and faster to run. You need to be a Pandas user - not a Pandas expert!

## Workshop delivery

- The workshop will take place in the Slice office in Belfast
- The focus of the workshop is on exercises for you to complete in Jupyter notebooks
- The notebooks also have interactive quizzes to test your understanding

## Who is delivering the course?

The workshop is delivered by Liam Brannigan who:
- has a PhD in climate physics from Oxford University
- was Lead Data Scientist at Analytics Engines before founding his own business
- is a Polars contributor focused on improving its documentation and accessibility
- has extensive teaching experience online and IRL
