Microbit Workshop @ Farset Labs

Join us for a hands-on opportunity to try out Micropython on a Micro:Bit.

This event is perfect for software developers, computer programmers, and anyone interested in Python programming language. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced developer, this event will offer the opporunity to learn together with your peers and experiment with the hardware.

Details

We will provide Microbits (and laptops) for up to 20 people. However you are more than welcome to bring your own hardware and laptop if you would prefer to use that. If you do have your own hardware/device , let us know as this allows us to add additional spaces to the event.

We will be making use of the `Getting Started with the micro:bit` course from the Raspberry Pi Foundation. The workshop will be self guided introduction and is intended as an opportunity to come together to try out the hardware in a shared learning environment. After the (optional) short tutorial, you are free to experiement programming the Micro:Bit, network with others, and hangout with the group for the duration of the session.

This meetup will take place in Belfast within the Farset Labs - Event Space.

The Farset Labs building is located at 1 Weavers Court Business Park. There is parking available for those attending the event and within walking distance of public transport. If you have any issues finding the building, feel free to reach out via meetup to the organizers.

Pizza will be available on the night from 6.

We aim to provide an option for everyone so we will always aim to have gluten-free, and veggie options available. However, to reduce waste we base our order on the number of people that request these options. If you have a dietary requirement, please let us know and we will try our best to help.
