Talks π¬
We have two speakers this month (more on their topics shortly):
Making decisions: Python and Open Policy Agent by Paddy Carey
The systems we build are usually a series of complex decisions and actions taken as a result of those decisions. From authorization checks, to feature flags and all kinds of business logic.
In this talk, we'll take a whistle-stop tour of how a policy engine like Open Policy Agent can help improve your ability to make flexible, observable, and complex decisions in your systems, and how to do it all (mostly) in Python.
calculang is a language for calculations, pure-functional and compiles to Javascript by Declan Naughton
In this talk, I present the intended separation of concerns, calculang properties, and some interactions and sharing of numbers and their workings that it facilitates.
I'll use some interactions and examples from a new and experimental calculang website.
Where π
This meetup will take place in Belfast within the Slice office space located in the city center.
The Slices office is located beside City Picnic/Primark - the entrance to the building has large glass doors leading to an elevator. If you have any issues finding the building, feel free to reach out via meetup to the organizers or via Twitter/slack.
Refreshments π
Food and drinks will be provided.
We aim to provide an option for everyone so we will always aim to have soft drinks/water, gluten-free, and veggie options available. However, to reduce waste we base our order on the number of people that request these options. If you have a dietary requirement, please let us know and we will try our best to help.
