Machine learning has long played a pivotal role in product development at Duo, where ML-powered features influence your multi-factor authentication experience to provide the seamless security we are known for. That said, despite ML being an extremely capable hammer, not all problems are nails, and in some contexts, we prefer to deliver only primitive rules or heuristics where explainability is highly valued. In this talk, you'll learn about how machine learning supports product development at Duo, and how we leverage machine learning as one of many tools in our arsenal to tackle both emerging and established challenges in security.
