The present state of operational analytics and Apache Druid

Details
At the forefront of the big data revolution has been an analytics scale that legacy systems can’t handle. For the last regular PyData Atlanta meetup of the year, Rommel Garcia will survey the present state of operational analytics and cover why the creators of Apache Druid built a new class of operational data store.
Apache Druid was created at Metamarkets, now part of SnapChat, to solve their low latency, very high concurrency, high dimensionality and high cardinality event data analytics requirements. See http://druid.io/druid-powered for more details.
Rommel is the Director of Field Engineering at Imply and is the author of Virtualizing Hadoop. He’s also the organizer of Apache Druid Atlanta and Atlanta Hadoop User Groups. Rommel also has years of experience in big data and GPU platforms and real-time analytics.
