🎄 PyData Berlin 2025 December Meetup 🎄
Details
Welcome to the PyData Berlin December meetup! 🎅
We would like to welcome you all starting from 18:00. There will be food and drinks. The talks begin around 18.30 and the doors will close at 18:45. Make sure to arrive on time!
Please provide your first and last name for the registration because this is required for the venue's entry policy. If you cannot attend, please cancel your spot so others are able to join as the space is limited.

The Lineup for the evening
Talk 1: A Deep Dive into Program Synthesis: Generating Logic from Examples
Abstract: Program Synthesis (PS) is the task of automatically generating logical procedures or source code from a small set of input-output examples. While LLMs and agents dominate current AI conversations, they often struggle with these kinds of precise reasoning tasks—where smaller, well-structured models for PS can succeed. In this talk, we’ll walk through the end-to-end development of an PS system, covering dataset representation using graph structures, model architectures, and tree search algorithms. The working example for this talk is the generation of procedural textures for 3D modeling, but the methodology is domain-agnostic. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of PS, its real-world potential, and the trade-offs between different architectural approaches. The session is designed for practitioners with a solid understanding of ML concepts and some familiarity with NN architectures such as transformers and CNNs.
Bio: Oren Matar is a freelance consultant specializing in AI-driven solutions with deep expertise in NLP. His work focuses on addressing the limitations of generative AI and developing interpretable, practical frameworks for real-world NLP and image processing. Most recently, he has been building domain-agnostic logic and code-generation systems that combine transformer models with tree-search methods for program synthesis.
Previously, he worked as a principal data scientist and algorithms developer, focusing on NLP and time-series forecasting for supply chains, and contributed to improving Facebook’s Prophet library by enhancing its runtime performance using Bayesian techniques.
Talk 2: Building a small end-to-end product with AI: personal learnings and experiences :)
Abstract: In this talk, I will walk through how building data products is evolving with modern AI development tools. I’ll take you through a small end-to-end product I built in my free time—covering everything from design, to frontend development, to data collection, and ultimately to building data science components. Here is the link to the project https://stateoftheartwithai.com/
Bio: Jean Carlo Machado is Brazilian, and his favorite role is entertaining his two-year-old daughter. Professionally, he is a Data Science Manager at GetYourGuide, where he leads the Foundational Data Product and Growth Data Products teams. Jean Carlo loves data science and deeply believes in its potential to create net-positive outcomes for society, even if it doesn’t always live up to that promise. He also organizes the Tech For Scalable Good meetup, a space dedicated to exploring how technology can be built and used for large-scale positive impact.
Lightning talks
There will be slots for 2-3 Lightning Talks (3-5 Minutes for each) between the two main talks.
Kindly let us know if you would like to present something :)
