Governance-by-Design: Building AI Systems That Meet Regulatory Expectations from Day One - Rukayat Balogun

With evolving standards such as the EU AI Act and emerging national frameworks, AI governance is shifting rapidly from “nice to have” to “non-negotiable.” This talk walks through how to build AI systems that meet governance expectations from day one. Using Python-based tooling, we demonstrate how to embed traceability, risk categorisation, model documentation, fairness assessments, and privacy protections into the development lifecycle. Real-world examples illustrate how these techniques reduce compliance burden and improve user trust. The talk is ideal for engineering teams working with sensitive data or high-risk AI systems.

Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM) with Google Meridian - Jihar Gifari

Despite its wide applicability and growing demand, MMM remains relatively unfamiliar to many data scientists and practitioners. Historically, implementing MMM was quite challenging, but Google recently released Meridian, which makes the process much more accessible. I have applied this in a real client project, and many businesses currently spend significant amounts (often tens of thousands of pounds) on agencies for similar work. In this session, I can explain the core concepts of MMM and demonstrate how to implement them practically in Python using Google Meridian.
