SLIDES FROM OUR MEETUPS ARE AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD: https://github.com/pydatacardiff
If you are interested in talking at PyData Cardiff (anything from 5 mins to 1 hour) please send us an email at pydatacardiff@gmail.com. We'd like to welcome speakers of all abilities and experience, even if you just want to stand up and introduce yourself, your work, and what you hope to gain from PyData Cardiff, that would be great!
PyData is an educational program of NumFOCUS, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in the United States. PyData provides a forum for the international community of users and developers of data analysis tools to share ideas and learn from each other. The global PyData network promotes discussion of best practices, new approaches, and emerging technologies for data management, processing, analytics, and visualization. PyData communities approach data science using many languages, including (but not limited to) Python, Julia, and R.
In 2014, the first PyData meetup group in the United Kingdom was set up in London. This has become a great success, with now over 8500 members at the end of 2018. This new group has been set up to extend the PyData community into Wales. There is a fast developing tech scene in our city, and we welcome all to join us. We will be working very closely with PyData Bristol, who have also set up a PyData meetup at the start of 2018.
The PyData Code of Conduct (http://pydata.org/code-of-conduct.html) governs this meetup. To discuss any issues or concerns relating to the code of conduct or the behavior of anyone at a PyData meetup, please contact the local group organizers (message us on the meetup page). Please also submit a report of any potential Code of Conduct violation directly to NumFOCUS: https://numfocus.typeform.com/to/ynjGdTThank you for helping us to maintain a welcoming and friendly PyData community!

Data Version Control: Git reproducible data science from POC to prod
Coffee Lounge @ Hodge House, 114 - 116 Saint Mary St City Centre, Cardiff, United Kingdom, CF10 1DY, Cardiff, GB2 tech talks on data science tools.
Talk 1: DVC - Data Version Control has been central to enabling the Continuum Media Data Science team to rapidly prototype trained machine learning models while still being entirely reproducible on any machine by any team member. We've successfully extended our git version control processes with our experiment process in a production ready pipeline that deploys AWS SageMaker endpoints ready for inference via our online platform. In this talk we'll introduce DVC, share some example code and outline how you can use it to achieve the same in your work.
Talk 2: TBA
Continuum Media have graciously sponsored this event. Continuum Media builds the only managed service exchange for linear TV, and we build it right from Cardiff.15 attendees
