PyData Cluj-Napoca: The Future of Our Community 🚀

After many meetups, talks, workshops, and conversations, we'd like to take a step back and ask:
What do we want PyData Cluj-Napoca to look like in the future?
This will be a different kind of PyData meetup. Instead of a traditional evening of talks, we're opening up the conversation to the community and thinking together about what we want to build next.

### 🗣️ What we'll discuss

We'll explore questions like:

• What do you want to get from PyData Cluj?
• What kinds of events would you like to see more of?
• Talks, workshops, hands-on sessions, hackathons, project nights, reading groups, community discussions?
• What topics should we explore over the next year?
• How can we better connect people from industry, academia, research, and the open-source community?
• What could we build together as a local community?
• What should we keep doing, change, or try for the first time?

### 🙌 An invitation to get involved

This is also an opportunity for people who would like to step up and become more involved in PyData Cluj.
A community doesn't grow only because a few organizers keep putting events on the calendar. We'd love to have more people contributing their ideas, organizing events, finding speakers, helping with logistics, creating content, or simply volunteering when needed.
You don't need to commit to becoming an organizer or take on a big role. There are many ways to contribute, and we're interested in hearing what you'd enjoy doing.
If you've ever thought "it would be cool if PyData Cluj did X", this is a great opportunity to help make X happen.

### 🧩 How the evening will work

We'll start with a short look at where PyData Cluj has been and where we are today.
Then we'll split into smaller groups to discuss different aspects of the community and collect ideas. We'll bring everything back together, identify common themes, and talk about which ideas people would actually like to help make happen.
We'll also leave time for people interested in volunteering or getting more involved to connect with the organizers.
No preparation is required — just bring your ideas, experiences, and curiosity.

Everyone is welcome:

• Python developers
• Data scientists and ML engineers
• Data engineers and analysts
• Researchers and academics
• Students
• People working with AI and data
• Open-source contributors
• Long-time PyData attendees
• People who have never been to a PyData event

You don't need to be an expert, a speaker, or an organizer. If you care about having a great data community in Cluj, you're welcome.

### 🎯 The goal

By the end of the evening, we want to have a clearer picture of what we — the PyData Cluj community — want to build together, as well as a group of people who are interested in helping make it happen.
Come share your ideas, meet other members of the community, and help shape the next chapter of PyData Cluj.
And, as always, there will be plenty of time for chatting, meeting people over drinks.
