Title: Building the Future of Sports Analytics with PSV and ASML
Abstract: Back in November 2020, ASML and PSV expanded their long-standing partnership and embarked on a Big Data project that aimed to help the premier football club optimize their data analysis. The IT Big Data & Analytics (BDA) team and IT BDA Innovation Lab worked with PSV to optimize the way the club analyzes matches. We used an advanced football model written in Python and deployed it in a modern cloud platform. We just closed the proof of value phase, and you are welcome to join virtually to learn about the solutions we developed.

Presenters Maud Diepstraten, Diederick Edel, Ruud van Elk.
Maud Diepstraten is a data engineer and data scientist at ASML for 4 years. She is currently working for the IT Big Data & Analytics Innovation Lab where she uses new techniques to translate data into information. Her background is in applied mathematics and she is currently studying part-time for a Masters in Data Science Management.

Title: Exploration of an open dataset of endurance activities
Short Description: GoldenCheetah is a desktop application for cyclists and triathletes and coaches, providing a rich set of tools and models to analyse, track and predict performance, optimise aerodynamics and train indoors. The GoldenCheetah Open Data project was started in January 2018. It aims to create an open-access database of endurance exercise data for use by amateurs, academics, and professionals.
In this talk, we will take a look at the data in this dataset and how we can derive insights from the data.
