Finally we'll have our second PyData event. Also we already have our next event lined up for May with the event announced after this one.

For our talk I am happy to announce that we'll have Vladimir Ilievski talking about Building Recommendation Systems in Python

Abstract:

Recommendation Systems (RecSys) are integral part of many digital products. Social media, video streaming platforms and e-commerce shops heavily depend on recommending items to users to maximize revenue and engagement. In this talk we will first cover the recommendation system essentials. Then we will use the Python RecSys ecosystem to build a recommender on the MovieLens toy dataset.
