# (2022 July Speaker) Travis Hathaway: Mapping Walkability with Open Street Map Data

Talk Description:
Description:
Recently for my master thesis at Kiel University in Germany, I used OSM data for create an index of walkability for the city of Kiel. My talk will serve two purposes. First it will briefly introduce how to use Open Street Map (OSM) data, and second I will detail the process I went through to create my map of walkability for the city of Kiel. By the end of the talk, I hope that I will have inspired some in the audience to conduct there own analysis with the wealth of data contained within the OSM database.
During the talk, I will also be introducing the website I created for my master thesis (
