Join us for a night full gathered with amazing humans in the AI and Data business with PyData Hamburg at Blue Yonders, there will be one talk and one panel talk:

💥 (Talk) Embedding code expressions in backend services (Blue Yonder)
AI/ML products usually involve multiple data transformation steps. These involve computing new columns in datasets that fit the customer's requirements. If a customer integration requires a new data point or if they wish to change an existing data point in the output, it is usually done by implementing the code changes and re-deploying the data processing backend services. To simplify such data flow pipelines, we can inject code expressions from external sources (via HTTP requests or cloud storage), compile, execute and use the results along with other outputs we have in the data processing service. This makes it easy to pass the ownership of small customisations to the user of the service. The user is also free to make changes or add new data points that he likes to be computed at run time. This type of code injection is made possible by using a dedicated expressions language. The backend service can control what type of functionalities the user could have in their expressions and enable a safe and secure way of doing code injection in applications. In this talk, we will see example code snippets that uses an expression language designed by Google.
