Ingesting, visualizing and processing sim racing streaming data with Jules de Ponte

  • Sim racing is becoming more popular as a spectator sport; with spectators, comes sponsorship and money. Sim racers therefore need to be ahead of the game. The application presented here is one which ingests, visualizes and processes telemetry data streaming from sim racing games; providing valuable insights as to how the driver is performing, and how they stack up against the AI drivers. This front-end application written in Python is aimed at helping racers and race engineers of all skill levels and abilities.
  • Specifically, we will look at ingesting and passing between threads in the app, unpacking and plotting real time data in Python, and efficient processing of millions of records with NumPy.
