Topic: Precision agricultural a driver to agricultural sustainability in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Speaker: Andrew Benjamin Kabuye
Kabuye Andrew Benjamin is an agricultural scholar and strategist focused on making farming more adaptable, resilient, sustainable, and equitable. With a Master’s in Animal Science and a role as a research assistant at Makerere University, he applies data-driven and precision agriculture approaches.
Through Helix Nutriscience, he connects research to practical farming by designing feasible, data-informed systems using agroclimatology, economic analysis, predictive modelling, and open-source tools.
His work helps farmers in East Africa shift from intuition-based to evidence-based practices, aiming to improve productivity, resilience, and profitability through intelligent use of data.
What Attendees shall learn:
Attendees will gain practical knowledge of designing and implementing end-to-end, reproducible data pipelines. The session will cover: methods for scalable data acquisition, cleaning, and integration; techniques for managing heterogeneous datasets; and approaches for deploying AI systems in environments with limited resources.
Through real-world case studies from my projects, participants will learn how to convert raw data into actionable insights, adopt best practices for reproducibility, and implement open-source tools to accelerate AI-driven decision-making.
By the end of the session, attendees will be equipped with strategies to replicate these pipelines in their own projects and domains.
Who can attend:
Data scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Software Engineers, Researchers, and Analytics professionals at all technical levels.
