- [ENG] Karol Przystalski - Why JavaScript beats cancer better than Python

Abstract:
Skin cancer is a serious problem worldwide but luckily treatment in the early stage can lead to recovery. JavaScript together with a machine learning model can help Medical Doctors increase the accuracy in melanoma detection. During the presentation, we show how to use Tensorflow.js, Keras and React Native to build a solution that can recognize skin moles and detect if they are a melanoma or a benign mole. We also show issues that we have faced during development. As a summary, we present the pros and cons of JavaScript used for machine learning projects.

BIO:
Obtained a PhD degree in Computer Science in 2015 at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow. CTO and founder of Codete. Leading and mentoring teams at Codete. Working with Fortune 500 companies on data science projects. Built a research lab for machine learning methods and big data solutions at Codete. Gives speeches and trainings in data science with a focus on applied machine learning in German, Polish, and English. Used to be an O’Reilly trainer.

- [ENG] Grzegorz Bartyzel - How AI works with robots
Abstract:
Artificial intelligence is increasingly used in modern robotics. Thanks to it, robots are becoming more autonomous, precise, and agile. However, how exactly does AI work with robots, and what tools are used for that? During the presentation, I will show you how to get started with robotics and AI with middleware called Robot Operating System (ROS) and what is required from AI applications to be successfully used in robots. My presentation will finish with a discussion of real ROS and machine learning-based projects.

BIO:
Grzegorz is a Master of Science in Automatic Control and Robotics and a PhD candidate at AGH University of Science and Technology. In everyday work, he is programming robots, both industrial and mobile, using ROS, the open-source middleware, and also he is developing and implementing AI algorithms. He has been working on the application of reinforcement learning in industrial robotics, and more specifically, researching method for out-of-distribution generalization.

- Lightning talks

  1. Configuring python linting to be part of CI/CD using GitHub action by Illia Todor - with this lightning talk, we walk through the path of what are python linters, why we need them, the all-in-once linter toolkit, and how to use GitHub actions in real life with a public demo example repository.
  2. ... Your Lightning Talk Idea goes here :) ...
Everyone loves lightning talks. If you want to show something, ideally related to procesing data in a ~5min short talk – here's your chance. We're not too strict on the timing, and you can either contact us beforehand or just come up with the idea during the meetup.

The meeting sponsors are:
- Techies Kraków (Codete) Our amazing host!
- Numfocus

Don't forget after the meeting there will be an after-party.
