Main Talks
1️⃣ Evaluating Distributional Forecasts - Leonidas Tsaprounis

In this talk we will focus on the metrics you can use to evaluate distributional forecasts. Distributional forecasts can be in the form of monte-carlo samples of future paths or analytical distributions and they aim to describe the full distribution for a forecasted time point. Using simple implementations with numpy and scipy we will go through the properties of different metrics like the Continuous Rank Probability Score (CRPS) and the Log Score and use them to pick the best forecasting algorithm using cross-validation.

2️⃣ How To Build Your Own Private ChatGPT Using Streamlit, LangChain & Vicuna - John Sandall

Your garden variety Large Language Model (LLM) is pretty great but comes with some downsides: no information after September 2021, and potentially insecure if you want to leverage internal documents and sensitive data, so let's build our own Vicuna-powered “ChatGPT”!

1️⃣ Open Source is Technically IllegalCasper da Costa-Luis
You are probably breaking the law.

2️⃣ London Data WeekJennifer Ding
London Data Week 2023 (https://www.londondataweek.org/) runs from 3rd-9th July, a citywide festival about data to learn, create, discuss, and explore how to use data to shape our city for the better. Find out what's happening across London, from Turing Institute's data cabaret to citizen science.

Logistics
Doors open at 6.30 pm (get there early as you have to sign-in via building security), talks start at 7 pm, drinks from 9 pm in the bar. We will have reduced capacity for this event but there will be plenty of people to discuss data science questions with!

Please unRSVP in good time if you realise you can't make it. We're limited by building security on the number of attendees, so please free up your place for your fellow community members!
