APIs: What they are and how to use them

Details

Application programming interfaces (APIs) are the backbone of the modern web. They allow developers to access data and functionality from other applications, without having to build everything from scratch.
In this meetup, we will discuss what APIs are, how they work, and how you can use them in your own projects. We will also cover two of the most popular API styles: REST and GraphQL.

By the end of this meetup, you will have a solid understanding of APIs and how you can use them to build better applications.
Topics Covered:

  • What is an API?
  • How do APIs work?

  • GraphQL APIs
  • Using APIs in your own projects
