¡Tenemos nuestro primer ponente confirmado para nuestro encuentro de marzo, y estamos trabajando en cerrar otra charla más!

Después de nuestro arranque en febrero, nos vemos en marzo para seguir hablando de Python, Datos, Visualización, Inteligencia Artificial, ¡y lo que surja!

En esta ocasión, tendremos el placer de contar con estas charlas:

• Juan Luis Cano (18:30-19:00) presentará el grupo, explicará qué es PyData y NumFOCUS, e invitará a los participantes a compartir sus intereses de cara a los próximos meses.
• Antonio Hernández (19:00-19:30) periodista y desarrollador web en Civio, hablará sobre Python para periodismo de datos, explicando cómo ha utilizado el lenguaje para visualizar la antigüedad de las casas en España, denunciar los problemas de accesibilidad del Metro de Madrid, o destapar contratos a dedo.

Después de la reunión buscaremos un bar cercano para tomar algo y hacer un poco de networking.

El meetup será en el Madrid Innovation Lab, un espacio municipal recién inaugurado.

Recomendaciones generales:

• ¿Sabes mucho de Python y Datos? ¿Sabes poco y quieres saber más? ¡En ambos casos, te damos la bienvenida!
• Aplica "la regla del comecocos": si estás en un círculo, deja siempre un hueco para que otra persona se pueda unir.
• Respeta las decisiones de los demás sobre si beber alcohol o no. ¡No todo el mundo quiere beber cerveza!
• Si eres una persona tímida o introvertida y no quieres decir nada, no tienes por qué. Si solo quieres escuchar y ver, ¡está perfecto!
• Por contra, si te gustaría hablar con alguien pero no sabes con quién, busca al equipo organizador y simplemente di: «¡Hola!»
• Puede haber asistentes que no hablen bien español y que se manejen mejor en inglés. Sé paciente y ¡no dejes que se aburran!

After our first meetup in February, we meet again in March to keep talking about Python, Data, Visualization, Artificial Intelligence, and more!

This time, we will have the pleasure of attending these talks:

• Juan Luis Cano (18:30-19:00) will introduce the group, explain what PyData and NumFOCUS are, and invite the participants to share their interests for the next months.
• Antonio Hernández (19:00-19:30) journalist and web developer at Civio, will talk about Python for data journalism, explaining how he used the language to visualize the age of houses in Spain, protest for the accessibility problems of the Madrid subway, or uncover shady contract awardings.

After the meeting we will look for a nearby bar to have a bite and do a bit networking.

The event will take place at the Madrid Innovation Lab, a new public venue that has been just opened.

General recommendations:

• Are you an expert in Python and Data? Are you a beginner and you want to learn more? In both cases, you are very welcome!
• Apply the "Pacman rule": if you're in a circle, leave a gap so that someone else can join.
• Respect everyone's choices with respect to alcohol. Not everybody likes or wants to drink beer!
• If you're shy or introverted and you don't want to say anything, you don't have to. If you only want to see and hear, that's perfectly fine!
• On the other hand, if you would like to talk to someone but you don't know to whom, seek the organizers and simply say: «Hi!»
• If you don't speak good Spanish, we will do our best to make you feel comfortable. But be mindful that other attendees might want to use their native language in larger conversations. Use this opportunity to practice your Spanish! If you are bored, feel free approach the organizers and say «Hi!»
• At PyData events there is a Code of Conduct https://pydata.org/code-of-conduct/ super short version: be kind (all else is details), abstain from insulting others or making sexist, racist, or other exclusionary jokes, and do absolutely not make sexual advances to other attendees.
